Luminous Mysteries
Say “Trinitarian Formula” then recite the “Apostle’s Creed, the “Queen of the Holy Rosary,” One “Our Father,” three “Hail Marys”
First Mystery: The Baptism in the Jordan River
Biblical Verse:
After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”Matthew 3:16-17
Second Mystery: Self-Manifestation at the wedding of Cana
Biblical Verse:
And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.John 2:4-6
We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this second decade in honor of Thy first Miracle, performed at the request of Thy Mother, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through her intercession, the grace to have recourse to her in all our necessities.
Third Mystery: Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Biblical Verse:
Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”Mark 1:14-15
Prayer
We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this third decade in honor of Thy Proclamation of the Kingdom of God, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, the grace of conversion for ourselves and our loved ones.
Fourth Mystery: The Transfiguration
Biblical Verse:
And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.Luke 9:29
Prayer
We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this fourth decade in honor of Thy Transfiguration on the Mount, and we ask of Thee through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, the grace of reverence and recollection in Thy presence.
Fifth Mystery: The Institution of the Eucharist
Biblical Verse:
And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.Luke 22:19-20
Prayer
We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this fifth and final decade in honor of Thy great gift of the Most Holy Eucharist, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, a love for Thy Eucharistic Presence.
